February 2: Poetry & Prose with Peter Orner and Jeff Sharlet

The Department of English and Creative Writing warmly invites you to the Cleopatra Mathis Poetry and Prose Series on Thursday, February 2, 2023, with readings by Professors Peter Orner and Jeff Sharlet. Peter Orner is the author of two novels, three story collections, and two collections of essays. His most recent book is Still No Word From You. He is a recipient of the Rome Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a recipient of both a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Fulbright. He is the Chair of the English and Creative Writing Department at Dartmouth.

Jeff Sharlet is the bestselling author or editor of eight books of literary journalism, including The Family, adapted into a Netflix series, and The Undertow: Scenes from a Slow Civil War, forthcoming in March. He is a contributing editor for Vanity Fair and a winner of the National Magazine Award, the Molly Ivins Prize, and Outright International's Outspoken Award. Sharlet is the Frederick Sessions Beebe '23 Professor in the Art of Writing at Dartmouth.
