Meetinghouse Reading Series: Creative Nonfiction on March 10

Meetinghouse is excited to host a virtual reading and conversation with three nonfiction writers from our inaugural issue, Sara Schaff, Yennie Jun, and Amber Emanuel. Please join us for the third reading in our winter series on March 10th, 2021 from 5-6 pm followed by a discussion on creativity during the pandemic, finding community in writing, and the future of literary journals.

Sara Schaff received her MFA at the University of Michigan. She has taught English at Oberlin College, the University of Michigan, and St. Lawrence University as well as in China, Columbia, and Northern Ireland. Sara is currently an assistant professor of English at SUNY Plattsburgh. She published a short story collection, Say Something Nice About Me, in 2016. Last year she published her second collection, The Invention of Love. Sara's work has been in numerous publications including Michigan Quarterly Review, The Missouri Review, and LitHub.
 
Yennie Jun graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Computer Science, a BA in History, and a minor in Music. She is currently a master's student studying Social Data Science at the Oxford Internet Institute. She writes fiction and nonfiction pieces in her free time and has been published in Medium and The Weekly Knob.
 
Amber Emanuel is a native Nebraskan who teaches and writes in Omaha. She recently completed an MA in English from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a thesis exploring the impact of growing up with a sibling with a profound disability. Her work can be found in 13th Floor Magazine and River Teeth's Beautiful Things.
