The Department of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College invites applications for a position in Black Studies (open field) at the rank of Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek a dynamic scholar of African American/Black diaspora literature and culture whose research will add to and align with curricular strengths in the department. We are especially interested in candidates whose research and teaching coincide with the following fields of study: Black Feminism, Queer/Trans Theory, Environmental Studies, and/or Transatlantic Studies. The Department of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position as Assistant Professor. We seek a teaching practitioner in the genre known sometimes as "creative nonfiction," sometimes as "literary journalism"—a genre encompassing the essay, the lyric essay, the reported essay, the personal essay, the graphic essay, and reportage. Applicants' primary work should be in nonfiction; we especially welcome applicants who work in audio documentary and new media. Responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced creative nonfiction courses as well as developing new courses within the creative writing curriculum. The person in this position will also play a major role in advising and mentoring creative writing students and advising senior creative writing projects.
