Professor Francis Featured in New York Times Article on "The Ritual of Breath Is the Rite to Resist" Opera

Ten years after the death of Eric Garner, The Ritual of Breath Is the Rite to Resist opera, which Professor Francis wrote the libretto for, honors his legacy and meditates on police violence, specifically against black people, in America. It appears as part of Lincoln Center's summer festival. The project also features Enrico Riley '95, a painter and Dartmouth professor of Studio Arts, and theater artist Niegel Smith '02 as director.
