Mother Tongue, an award-winning nationally recognized poetry duo, consists of Rachel McKibbens (2009 Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion, author of "Pink Elephant," "Into the Dark and Emptying Field" and "Mammoth") and Dominique Christina (two-time Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion 2012 & 2014, author of the poetry collections: "The Bones, The Breaking, The Balm" and "They Are All Me" as well as "This is Woman's Work"). We represent two of the top performance poets in the world. We celebrate the wildly radical pairing of two women of color authors/teaching artists who are deliberately feral and apologize never. Standing at the intersection of art and activism, we use poetry as a tool for social change. We bring culturally competent, paradigm shifting performance poetry, workshops, and dialogue to universities, institutions, and organizations all over the country to expand necessary conversations about identity, inclusion, race, gender, LGBTQ issues, and the epidemic of gender-based and sexual violence, particularly as they occur on college campuses. See:<https://youtu.be/86XJqpkzRMk>and <https://youtu.be/cxERHZWJwVk>
